Small Town, Loud Voices - El Segundo Monthly Rally
Small Town, Loud Voices - El Segundo Monthly Rally
2025-08-02 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
Main Street & West Imperial Avenue, Main St & W Imperial Ave, El Segundo, CA 90245, USA
https://www.mobilize.us/mobilize/event/811189/
corner of Main & Imperial to protest the inhumane actions of the Trump administration!
This will be a family-friendly, dog-friendly, non-violent, no-vandalism, community event. We'll be staying on the grassy areas and out of the roads. Please keep it friendly, and if there is any negativity or counter-protestors, don't engage. We'll have folks on hand who can help de-escalate any situation if necessary.
What this event is:
-
This is a stationary, “honk and wave” visibility event at a location that sees a lot of weekend traffic. Bring signs!
-
This is a positive, peaceful, community-focused, and family- and dog-friendly event.
What this event is not:
-
This is not a march, and there is no programming/planned speaker.
-
This is not a civil disobedience event. We will not block roads, sidewalks, or the entrances of any buildings.
-
We will not be engaging with any hecklers. The El Segundo Police Department is aware of the event and available to help assist to keep everyone safe if there are counter-protestors.
There are many other Indivisible events across LA, so if this doesn't sound like what you're looking for, please feel free to attend a different event.
Details:
-
10 AM to 12 PM
-
Grassy area in front of the El Segundo sign at the corner of Main & Imperial in El Segundo. We will expand to the grassy area across Main if necessary.
-
There is street parking along Imperial Avenue (not Imperial Highway) within El Segundo, as well as on the surrounding streets south of Imperial Ave.
-
Please do not park illegally (i.e. blocking driveways or in the local businesses’ lots). We want to bring people in to our movement, not turn them off!
We can't wait to see you. We are looking forward to making our voices heard together! This a local Indivisible event!

We are again in a break-glass moment. The Trump administration is trampling the constitution, demolishing the treasury system, initiating trade wars, and pushing economy crushing budget proposals to fund tax cuts for his billionaire cronies. His tactic toward immigration is infuriating.
Join us for a hands-on training will which cover best practices for activism - where to find actions, how to make effective phone calls to elected representatives and how to use a variety of tools to get your message across.
There will be time to ask questions and to discuss what's on your mind.

PARO COMUNITARIO “COMMUNITY STOPPAGE”
PARO COMUNITARIO “COMMUNITY STOPPAGE”
2025-08-12 6:00 am - 10:00 pm
MacArthur Park, 2230 W 6th St, Los Angeles, CA 90057, USA
With a renewed wave of militarized ICE operations in Los Angeles, our communities continue to face federal immigration raids and terror. Thousands of loved ones have been deported. Thousands more remain detained in inhumane conditions. We must lead the next phase of resistance with 24 hours of collective community action by participating in a PARO COMUNITARIO “COMMUNITY STOPPAGE”.
Major corporations like Home Depot are complicit, staying silent while ICE abducts workers in their parking lots. Like Home Depot, companies including Penske, Target, Walmart, Stater Brothers, and McDonald’s are prioritizing profit over people.
OUR DEMANDS ✋ Stop the ICE raids 🛑 End the military occupation in Los Angeles 🚫 Stop local law enforcement collaboration with ICE 🕊️ Free our families- Free themall
OUR SOLUTIONS 📜 Pass the Registry Act in Congress 💰 End increased immigration enforcement funding for ICE & private detention centers ⚖️ Conduct oversight hearings of immigration courts, judges, and detention centers ⛔ End expedited deportations, third-country removals, and indefinite detention 🏢 Hold major corporations accountable for supporting Trump-ICE policies
HOW TO PARTICIPATE ON AUGUST 12 1) BOYCOTT. Do NOT buy from: * Home Depot * Penske * Target *Walmart * Stater Brothers #202 (Pasadena) * McDonald's
2) JOIN US AT A RALLY POINT 12:00 AM-Midnight Fast Food Workers Strike (Location TBD) 6:00 AM-Community Takeback of MacArthur Park 10:00 AM-Rally and march at MacArthur Park-Cultural “safe passage” events 12:00 PM-Car Caravan to LA County Board of Supervisors In coordination with SEIU 2015 5:00 PM-Rally at Placita Olvera 6:45 PM-March to Detention Center Rally, entertainment, and vigil at the end
3) SUPPORT LOCAL Shop at local businesses Buy from street vendors
Now is the time to rise. On August 12, we will fight back, together. We will not be silent while our people are detained, deported, and disappeared. We will mobilize, disrupt, and reclaim our collective power to demand justice and dignity for all. Join us, because when we fight, we win.
